Far Rockaway is the easternmost neighborhood on the Rockaway Peninsula, a historic seaside community that once attracted wealthy vacationers and today serves as a working-class residential area at the edge of Queens and Nassau County. It is the terminus of both the A train and the Long Island Rail Road's Far Rockaway branch, and its oceanfront location gives it a distinctive end-of-the-line character.
