Herald Square is a major commercial intersection and surrounding neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan where Broadway, Sixth Avenue, and 34th Street converge, named for the long-defunct New York Herald newspaper that was once headquartered there. It is best known today as the home of Macy's Herald Square — the flagship of the largest department store chain in the United States — and serves as one of the city's busiest retail hubs, drawing shoppers and commuters from Penn Station and beyond.
