Lenox Hill is an elegant residential neighborhood forming the southern section of the Upper East Side, generally bounded by 60th and 77th Streets between Fifth and Lexington Avenues, and named for the Scottish merchant Robert Lenox whose farm once occupied the land. A significant portion of the neighborhood falls within the Upper East Side Historic District, and its streets are lined with tony boutiques, consulates, and grand prewar apartment buildings that make it one of Manhattan's most prestigious addresses.
