Manhattan Valley is a low-key residential neighborhood tucked between the Upper West Side and Morningside Heights, roughly spanning 100th to 110th Streets west of Central Park, occupying the valley that dips between the Manhattan schist ridges on either side. Long home to a diverse working- and middle-class community, it has in recent decades attracted spillover from the pricier neighborhoods on either side while retaining a more affordable and unassuming character.
