Woodlawn, sometimes called Woodlawn Heights, is a neighborhood at the northern edge of the Bronx with a strong Irish American identity, home to one of the largest Irish immigrant communities in New York City. It is bordered by the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, a sprawling and architecturally significant burial ground that serves as the final resting place of numerous notable Americans.
