Fort George is a small, tight-knit residential neighborhood at the northern tip of Manhattan, nestled between Washington Heights and Inwood along the high ridge above the Harlem River. Named for the British fort that once stood at the island's northern heights during the colonial era, it is a predominantly Dominican and Latino community known for its hillside streets, strong neighborhood character, and sweeping views of the Harlem River valley below.
