Washington Heights occupies the northern reaches of Manhattan above 155th Street, rising steeply in elevation toward the cliffs of the Hudson, and is one of the city's most vibrant Latino communities — particularly Dominican-American. The neighborhood is home to the Cloisters museum of medieval art, Fort Tryon Park, and a dense, energetic street life that gives it a character all its own.
