Hollis Park Gardens is a quiet residential enclave within Hollis, developed in 1906 as an upper-middle-class suburban community following the extension of trolley service to the area in 1897. The neighborhood is characterized by early 20th-century Colonial, Tudor, and Cape Cod-style homes, many with gardens and driveways that give the area a distinctly leafy, suburban feel. Situated roughly between 192nd and 195th Streets and Jamaica and Hillside Avenues, it represents one of the earliest planned residential developments in southeastern Queens.
